Dear Cal and the staff of Home Style Construction,

Well, we’ve spent the first Christmas and New Year in our “new” home. The past month has been hectic with unpacking and season’s activities, but we are settling in nicely and thoroughly enjoying our new surroundings.

From the time we purchased our 1955 vintage bungalow 25 years ago, we have been formally and informally planning how to upgrade our home when the time was right. One of the main problems was to determine the project scope, given the original condition of much of the house and our reluctance to move out during renovations. We determined that the project would emphasize energy efficiency and include a new relocated kitchen, new flooring throughout, new windows and doors, exterior re-insulation and re-stucco, soffits and eavestroughs. We needed to find a reliable contractor and that’s when we met you, through a good referral.

I recall our initial site meeting and the positive impression that we were left with. You helped us quantify a budget amount and set expectations on the overall duration of the project. You made the “getting started” part relatively easy and enjoyable, with expert suggestions. As our relationship developed, we appreciated your availability and desire for good communication. It was evident that you and your crew are well-organized and ready to deal with concerns immediately.

As things progressed, we decided to increase the scope of the project by including the bathroom, roofing, deck and interior re-finishing. Again, you guided us in suitability, product selection, and in re-establishing target completion dates. We witnessed your relationship with your staff and subtrades and how you hold them accountable for their work. We noted that the job site was always cleaned up and left tidy at the end of each day.

We really enjoyed seeing the project come together. Our home was transformed and in the last 6 weeks or so, it became evident that your qualified staff and the finishing subtrades were particularly talented. The end result is fantastic. Our thanks go out in particular to Neil, Scott and Jeremy for their outstanding workmanship and attention to detail, to the flooring techs, the stucco crew and to Harold who did such a great job on the interior decorating.

You promised us a beautiful home and Home Style has delivered. We are very grateful to Home Style for this big success story in our lives.
